Hemel Stags record first win of season at South Wales Scorpions

Hemel Stags clinched their first win of the Kingstone Press League 1 campaign with a comprehensive 30-14 victory over South Wales Scorpions.

The Stags ran in seven tries as South Wales had no answer for the visitors' impressive attacking display at Virginia Park.

The away side raced into a 16-0 lead after 20 minutes through scores from Simon Hrbek, Reece Rance, and Tuoyo Egodo.

BJ Swindells converted two of the three tries before South Wales responded through Christiaan Roets and Nick Rawsthorne.

With Paul Emanuelli converting the latter's try he became the club's record points scorer as he trimmed the deficit to 16-10 at half-time.

But tries from Ben Stead and Mike Stewart extended Hemel's advantage to 26-10 and Rance rounded off the scoring after Yannic Parker had given South Wales hope.
